What do you replace it with? do you go for that 1st gen you always wanted? or something more modern
A 1st gen is number 2 on my shopping list becuase they are too bland IMO, a 71' 2nd Gen Z28 is at the top of the F Body list.
Still have this strong hankering for a pickup truck , but they are just stupid money (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/mad.gif)
Having said that I've just seen an SRT-10 crew cab 04 with 5,000 miles go for £26,000 that's cheap !!!
Edit : Inc VAT.

Wasn't there a blown First gen on Ebay .co.uk recently ?
yeah look for a thread called "True ebay delights" or something like that started by me
Quoting: Roadkill
Certainly a little different.
and only 700 miles since the build
Quoting: F Body
Me thinks that is going to go for a lot more than $16,000 ?
i would expect it to be the low side of $30k

having driven a stock 56 Chevy 3 speed they is no way in hell I'd have a standard one.

Yup with the exchange rate at 1.87 thats just under £6K so add $1500 for a container share and by the time its landed including taxes £8.5k

Now that I thought was sweet until I looked at the rear end !
im sure you could find a way of solving that, got to do some work otherwise its not worth buying

Your thinking of selling the z28 because it's not perfect any more? That's barmy.
You can either keep it perfect or drive it. Personally I've never seen the point of a car that isn't driven.
Yeh I know where your coming from but as your aware it does get driven just not as much as I'd like.
Suppose I do it because not many people can or want too ?
How many times have you looked at a "true survior" car and thought if only ?
7 years down , only 23 to go and it's a classic ?

If your gonna do that you need to seal it up and store it away.
If your enjoyment comes from the polishing cleaning showing and driving then time to move on and find something else to do all of the above too

with the decent ammount youu could get for your Z28, you could afford a sound thirdgen, and have the budget to bring it right up to show winning (well, you know what i mean, coz thirdgens dont win shows..
They do when it pisses it down and the trailer queens stay away!
For the money Martyn's car is worth he could buy mine, Philo's and Fubar's together in a job lot!

to bring it right up to show winning
I would hope that it is already at Show winning standard , I just have very high standards (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/cool.gif)
Because I know every inch of the car so well I can see signs of deterioration which other people wouldn't/couldn't see , I do find it very therapeutic after a hard days slog to slink off down to the garage and polish my bits (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/shame.gif)
Sorry PhilO but I think a third gen isn't on the list , well not until after the 2nd and 1st gens (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/grin.gif)
