Title: Rear Drum Backing Plate - Sealing Compound?

Gents, reading the Bentley manual for my bus, it states to use a sealing compound in-between the backing plate and the hub.

What exactly is the sealing compound? Is it just a black silicone sealant?  (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/huh.gif)

It's to stop dirt getting in.

It is where the backing plate for the rear brake drum connects / sits on the hub, highlighted by the green area below:

Any suggestions? I've had a look for 'sealing compound', but there is not a specific thing to use (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/huh.gif)

Probably like a RTV sealant will do, then.
