with recently fixed roof - hurrah !)
(http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/up.gif) (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/rock.gif) is it a permanent fix tho!?
Quoting: Roadkill
It is, yes. Hopefully. It's not rained hard enough to fully test it since the repair but if this doesn't work I honestly don't know what will
Cool - did you actually find the entry or just a case of fill everything with sealer??
Quoting: Roadkill
Plus I only slid off the roof once ! Bonus !

My P.C's running epically slow nowadays so I'm wondering what it'll make of a LAN.
Don't worry, I'm going to see how money & saving goes in the next year then this one with its Pep-up new bits will be for sale (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/wink.gif)
Quoting: ianjpage
Well if you want dean we can wipe and reload it before hand?
A Refresh might be a good idea.
Oh and on a separate note... FALLOUT 3 WORKS NOW!!!! (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/beavisnbutthead.gif)
Quoting: Roadkill
That's Understandable.
She'll be flying once it's healed - my Dad was.
Yeah that's what we're hoping for as she is really bad and can't walk much at all (whereas she used to walk everywhere....)

What's a good recommendation for a (around £40 or less) WIRELESS mouse and keyboard combo ???
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-009-GI
This is the only applicable one on Overclockers.
PC world has more choice (Anything Logitech will be fine) just make sure its not a 'compact' mouse designed for use with Laptops, day-to-day will be ok but using one of these for a weekend of gaming twice a year is not good.

It's the "nano receiver" . . . Isn't that the plug in USB thingy ?
Those that show a picture seem to just show that, anyway.
Yeah, that's the almost invisible USB dongle that they use.
Quoting: FUBAR
Yeah, that's the almost invisible USB dongle that they use.
Uh-huh . . .
Quoting: Roadkill
most, now, seem to rely on the nano (USB) receiver and I reckon
that wouldn't pick up the signals too well as the P.C itself is in a cupboard under the worktop
(http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/confused.gif)
Quoting: Roadkill
. . . . A desk-mounted receiver really is ideal . . .
Quoting: ianjpage
As for the receiver you can always just get a short 1m usb extension lead and connect the dongle to that......
Does your Monitor have any passthrough* USB ports in it? I know sometimes they do, if so it could be plugged into that.
* Additional USB Ports (normally found on the bottom or side of the screen) that are not used as a video-input option for the monitor.

Doubt whether these were connected to the PC, though
No, they weren't.
So I've ordered a Microsoft Comfort Desktop 5000 (!!!)
A lot seem to come with the tiny little mice but this one seemed pretty solid looking with a full-sized mouse.
We'll see.
I bought a couple of 1m extension cables, too . . one for the keyboard & mouse and one for my bluetooth thing-ma-jig that I use sometimes for transferring pictures from my phone (it's hidden at the back of the P.C, too so transfer can be slow).
Just hope it arrives for Friday.

Microsoft Comfort Desktop 5000
Yeah that looks fine, that is a full size mouse too.

As an aside, will still be coming to lan but will not be around on the Saturday much as need to pop to see my mum as she having her hip done the week before so won't be very mobile and both my sisters aren't around on the Saturday, will still be there Friday, and Sunday as well as Saturday night but just not during the day
Change of plan again.....sounds like mum be going in for op tomorrow (Wed) so may still need to disappear for a few hours on Saturday to pop and see her, as although she probably still be in hospital, it not nice for her to see no one the whole day as my sister's are in London
