Complete Apple Mac Mini system for sale - SOLD
« on: October 02, 2008, 10:18:22 am »

I no longer use it as I use my MacBook Pro for everything nowadays so this one is up for sale.
Throw your PC in the bin and leave viruses and spyware and problems behind.

If you've not seen one of these before you won't believe how tiny (and silent!) it is.  It makes a shuttle PC look gigantic!

Mac Mini G4 1.25GHz, 1GB RAM, 40GB HDD, Combo drive (CDRW+DVD ROM)
17" Samsung LCD Monitor
Apple Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard
Apple Pro Mouse
Belkin USB & Firewire hub, fits under Mac Mini

The Mini has a fresh install of OSX and iLife.
It runs Leopard just fine.
It comes with the original restore discs.

First offer over £250 (exc delivery) gets it !

(or over £200 if you don't want the monitor!)

If you bought the latest version of this lot it would cost over £600...

Courier delivery would be £20, but buyer can collect or we can maybe meet halfway etc.

OSX = What Apple computers run instead of Windows

iLife = One of the main reasons why Macs are so ideal for home.  Photo editing, video editing, DVD making, music making suite of software

It runs Leopard just fine.

Leopard = latest version of the OSX operating system

That's bad luck!

At least they're easy to get to in the MacBook, I upgraded the one on my MacBook Pro and that was a bit more "involved"...

No, afraid not.
The GTX280 is not Mac compatible.

And if I'm honest, it's not compatible with even 1 of the 140,000 PC viruses either...

But if you do find a Mac game you can play at the LAN party, its PSU won't burst into flames so that's gotta be a plus right?

But overall, you just wouldn't fit in...

I enjoy the Mac v Windows fights even more than the Chevy v Ford ones

I just love the way that owners are so defensive about any possible criticism of an Apple product, the only reason I don't own an Apple product is because I can't afford one

NB : ALL computers are crap, if they were any good they'd set themselves up and repair themselves

Yeah, everyone wants a laptop.

On a side note, read yesterday that for every $3 spent on laptops, $1 of it goes to Apple nowadays, their laptops are the hot ticket.

Problem is, a £700 Apple laptop, new, is worth £500 when 2 years old.
Great for new buyers, not so good for people wanting a used bargain...

Hey, my PC PSU burst into flames (well ok, there was smoke coming out of it) but it just kept on going. Still working fine now.

Macs and PCs run on exactly the same hardware now, so the only difference is the software - ie Windows or OSX.

I use whatever does the job and is cheapest. Right now, that's a PC as the games only run on Windows...

For sure.

I use my MacBook Pro at work hooked up to a 24" Monitor and a full size keyboard and regular mouse.

Only problem is lack of disk space.  I've got 320GB in the laptop and an external drive.  Even the biggest new 500GB drive wouldn't be enough.
I need a 1TB drive in the laptop but no such drive exists.  Only option would be to fit a 500GB drive and remove the optical drive and fit another 500GB one in there.  Then use one of those funky Macbook Air external optical drives instead.

The problem with that Apple iLife suite is that you acrue loads of video footage, high res photos etc etc and it really eats up your disk space...

Yeah my old Dell laptop had a spare bay that could take an extra hard drive or battery.

But it fell apart so...
