And check under the front seats for the build sheet, and also under the carpet

The Z28's sheet was under the drivers seat carpet.

I shall have a check of our records too as we used to run the Classic Trans Am Register and Club back in those days.

Will let you know my findings

Apparently it is a hardtop with the Y82 package, which is a t-top package!.

I read that thread too during my investigation hence why I came to the assumption it's had a new roof at some time.

I am a bit dubious though as I did read somewhere that dealers  sometimes selected the wrong option code when oredering and also the car came into the country in 79 when it was just two years old, so if it has had a new roof it was probably done here.

Either way it is still a special edition and I'm pretty chuffed.

OK, so been trying to get the V5 from DiVvyLA and they replied yesterday asking for photos and a rubbing of the VIN plate.  Is this normal procedure????

Whist I was inside I took the opportunity to get some shots......

Spooky looks identical to the Trans Am I bought, have you had time to look at the chassis and floor pan yet

Small amount of rot on passenger rear rail about 3 inches by 1 inch.  Can be cut out and repaired, no need for complete rail. Bottom of the rear arches need doing too as well as the rear inner tail panel.  Already treated and primed half the floorpan.
