Went out for a ride this morning and when I got back the Internet postman had delivered me some goodies

Some R&G Racing crash protectors, they ain't cheap at £174 but they are the best with shock absorbing mounting pads.

Not that I'm planning on throwing it down the road, but I don't like only having a side stand to rely on and if it ever did hit the ground it would save a lot more than the cost of the protectors

Front spindle as supplied :

With Crash Spindle :

Handbar ends were just a plastic cap :

With bar end sliders :

Engine mounts as supplied :

With the Protectors :

Rear spindle as supplied :

With the spindle protector :

Very easy to fit and a quality products

Now about that paddock stand

I MUSTstay away from the Rizoma website

I think I'm in love with that bike!

The only V twin sports bike that I liked were the Buells, but that has something...

After this mornings events I needed to clear my head, so I've been out for a blast on the Monster

After the first fill up I did 153.4 miles before the fuel light came on and then put in 11.61 litres of fuel, so that's an average of 60.15mpg

109.4 miles yesterday two up using 8.06 litres = 61.56mpg

Total mileage 311 miles and I washed her for the first time last night, she was covered in dead flys and those shiney black wheels don't half show the road dirt/brake dust

Well she has covered something over 300 miles and today was the first chance to try out my new paddock stands.
Since the bike only has a side stand it's a pain to adjust the chain or rotate the wheels
So on special offer at M&P was this pair of universal paddock stands for £44.98 delivered in 3 days

Quality is reasonable for the price and they work well

Put the baffles back inside the race exhaust exhaust system today, ready for my advanced training day with the Metropolitan Police next Saturday

The F Body kids could still hear the bike a few miles away, it's now just loud instead of wake the #ucking dead loud

Because it's kept inside the front door I wanted a mat to put under it, looked everywhere for just a plain green carpet mat the right size but couldn't find one.
So had to resort to M&P again for a m/c washable bike mat

Got some scratches on my visor and a mark on the Ducati screen, Xerapol is the biz. A bit of and plastic scratches just disappear

Did 141.7 miles today without the fuel light coming on, seems like 150 miles is the tank range ( the Honda only did 85 miles )

Put in 9.81 litres before it overflowed all over the tank
making 65.57 MPG

Spent the last 4 hours working on the Ducati and before Shifty or PhilO say anything YES you told me so

After Saturday's high performance riding it was clear that my leathers were starting to scratch the petrol tank

So I purchased 2 x A4 3M plastic sheets, these were Honda packaged and priced at £9.99 each ( anything Honda is ruddy exspensive ).
Any ways when I complained about the price they said call it £15 for the pair

First job was to get some plain A4 paper and some cutting tools :

Then after a couple of attempts produce some templates, the trick here was trying to keep to the flat surfaces to avoid any possible creasing.
This sort of material will happily bend two ways but not three

Once your happy with your finished template, cut out the 3M sheets.
Note that I did intend to buy 3 sheets ( one of each side of the tank and one for the tail unit ) however they only had two. This meant optimizing the designs to the available material
I was also trying to avoid any corners or straight edges which might lift

The application method was very slow to ensure no bubbles or creases

Overall I'm well impressed with the results

I reshaped the off cut from the tail unit hump for the centre tank strip :

Ooh good stuff! Can't see it at all from here. Is the tail piece for back packs and the like?

No it's just ornamental styling on top the actual seat and has to be unbolted and taken off if you want to take a pillion
