Firstly.
I very rarely use branded stuff . . . except sauces and sometimes bog paper, bleach and washing up liquid. Everything else I buy is own brand (
not value / economy / basics) and does the job fine.
Money saved, more to spend on car parts.
Secondly.
This was originally a thread about Asda
own brand pasties. I didn't state that they were better then branded but I don't think I would be alone in saying that Ginsters (in this example) are over-rated and over priced.
Again, in this example, I'd rate Asdas own brand pasties over Ginsters any day. I
have had both, of course.
As with anything in life, I avoid brands.
I buy own brand clothes as my experience with expensive "labels" is poor. I buy generally own-brand food as I believe it's proportionally (price : quality ratio) better then branded food.
It all comes down to who you are and how you approach life.
I personally feel happy wearing my £3 jeans and £2.50 T-Shirt to go to work in . . . I feel happy wearing my £6 jeans and £2.50 T-Shirt to go out in . . . I feel content coming home and having a Asdas own brand Pizza for dinner . . . and am very content eating own brand pasties for lunch over elborate home made or other alternatives.
I'm White Trash baby,
yeeaaaahhhh !
