you get those hams all over france and spain, they are a smoked cured ham, so its uncooked meat. the meat is very dark, almost purple, and tastes absolutely gorgeous..

BTW, expect to pay anywhere from €30 - €80 for one - about £20 - £65

i'm a firm believer in the fact that your food should not look at all like the animal from whence it came... a roast chicken looking like a roast chicken is fine though... no heads.

which reminds me, in the butchers in China you could buy Vacuum Packed suprised looking Piggy Faces... it was fukin hilarious!!  so should have taken a pic of that

in the supermarkets in spain they had whole piglets around 18"  long shrink wrapped whole,

there is a little restaurant in calais i have been to many times that do 'pied de cochan' in other words, pigs trotter..

its whole, complete (including toenails) and simply rolled in breadcrumbs and roasted, its simply gorgeous..

basicly they sawed orsons foot off, along with 8" of his leg and cooked it..
