Computers and Games / 2.8hours later
« on: January 21, 2015, 12:31:46 pm »
Someone at work mentioned he'd seen this on Facebook.
Basically it's a zombie survival game played in a number of cities\towns

You can either play a zombie (and go to zombie school) or be a survivor trying to rescue the last uninfected children on earth

http://2.8hourslater.com/

Quoting: Website
Five years after the original outbreak, a terrible discovery has been made. The human race is dying out as the number succumbing to the zombie infection overtakes birth rates. Hunger, anarchy and murder rule. In facing extinction, we face the darkest aspects of our humanity. Outnumbered by the infected, on a collision course with a desolate future, you are part of a resistance group that has located the only uninfected children on earth.

With a brand new story, new gameplay and challenge orientated – you will need to be smart, as well as fast, to survive the night. Can you break into the quarantined slum, outwit the criminal gangs, out-run the zombies and get to them before it's too late? Will you put the survival of the species before your own?

Will you survive the night?

Come Play.

Just had an email to say this is the last arena tour they will be doing

Quoting: Email

Unless you've been kidnapped by Martians, you will already know that Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of The Worlds - Alive on Stage! will be performing it's FINAL ARENA TOUR next year around the UK and Netherlands!

This will be the most ambitious production yet and will feature Liam Neeson in 3D holography, Jason Donovan as Parson Nathaniel, Westlife's Brian McFadden as The Sung Thoughts of The Journalist, Les Miserables' Carrie Hope Fletcher as Beth, Parson Nathaniel's Wife, the 36-piece ULLAdubULLA Strings, 9-piece Black Smoke Band, and of course, conducted by Jeff Wayne. Plus further Guest Artistes still to be announced!

The show, which is mixed live in Surround Sound, features remarkable special effects, including the incredible 3-tonne 35-foot tall Martian Fighting Machine firing real flames into the Arena, a 100 foot wide "animation wall" with 2 hours of cutting edge CGI, the incineration of a cast member in front of the audience's eyes, a ground-breaking levitation effect and much, much more!

If you've never experienced this "mind-melting multimedia extravaganza", then this will be your LAST CHANCE!

Tickets go on sale for the Sat 13th Dec 2014 show at the O2 this week. Hope they don't sell out too quick :Fingers Crossed:

Just found this on Sky News

British physicists have released a zombie film made secretly in the world's largest and highest-energy particle accelerator.

Quoting: Sky News
The 80-minute film, Decay, was shot in the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) – a 27km tunnel 100 metres beneath the Swiss-French border at Geneva where the Higgs boson or "God particle" was recently discovered.

The £2,000 movie follows a small group of students, played by physicists, after a disastrous malfunction in the LHC tunnel.

General Banter / Has it really been that long?
« on: August 24, 2011, 11:00:23 am »
Can't quite believe we've now had Lucy for 2 years today

She's definitely changed a lot since we got her

This pic was taken on the way home after we bought her

So glad we got her out of that 2nd floor flat and from someone who didn't actually know anything about her after having her for 6 months

Lucy's a lot calmer now and can quite happily (most of the time ) walk round a busy town/show without barking at anyone

Newer pic taken Jan this year

General Banter / Expensive afternoon in Monte Carlo
« on: July 28, 2011, 08:54:39 pm »
Unfortunately another woman driver causing grief for the rest of us

http://news.sky.com/home/strange-news/article/16039032

Quoting: Sky News
The woman caused a £700,000 five-car pile-up in the Monaco capital as she drove her blue Bentley down the main route of the Place du Casino.
She managed to drive the £250,000 Azure into a host of other equally expensive cars.
Tourists gathered to watch and film the incident
She came into contact with a £75,000 Mercedes Benz, a £143,000 Ferrari 430, a £150,000 Aston Martin Rapide and an £80,000 Porsche.
The Mercedes was the first victim as the Bentley scraped down the side of it before ploughing into the Ferrari.
From there, she moved on to the Aston Martin Rapide and the Porsche.

Around £100,000 of damage was done to the cars
The driver and her two passengers then became trapped in their own car as tourists gathered to photograph the event.
