I finally finished fitting my (free from work) Racelogic Traction Control system this weekend, and all I can say is brilliant!!! (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/up.gif) (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/up.gif) (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/up.gif)
It works a treat when the back-end wants to go a wondering... (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/drive.gif)
I did some tests at the airfield in my lunch hour to see how it would bear up under some stick in the wet.... It managed to get me from 0 to 60mph a whole 2 seconds faster than running without... (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/shame.gif)
I'm waiting for a sunny day now to see what difference it makes in the dry.... It won't be quite as vast i'm sure, but will be interesting to see....
BTW Baz, this is the same system that Bob Woodhouse runs on his racing Viper, and that is fitted to all Vipers that get the Woodhouse treatment.... So if you want a demo sometime (on a vastly less powerful car(http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/down.gif)), just holler.....(http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/cool.gif)
Did you get any footage of the slow motion burn out?
Nah, Deano wasn't keen....(http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/smirk.gif)
I'm not having burn-outs - of any description - outside my house.
I wouldn't dream of it mate.... (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/smirk.gif) I think G's description of it being a burnout is a little off the mark though.... It's more of a tyre creep....
Either way - You can easily film it another time . . . I am curious to see it, mind you.

Would cost you £725 if you have ABS.... Although i'm assuming not, so it would be an extra £250 for wheel speed sensors....

Ouch...
I know.... I would have thought twice about shelling out that mauch too..... But I did some turns on Monday on a very wet airfield that should have seen me spining in loops, and it just didn't let go.... Well, not until I switched it off that is... (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/smirk.gif)

Could work out cheaper then another venture into "Ditch territory", though.
I Reckon this time it's gonna cost around £500 to fix + a $hit load more of my time . . . .

Might be handy with that new motor aswell, its gonna make a lot more power than the 318 he has at the moment
Bob does some real good kits and only uses the best...Couple of members over here have bought there vipers from him.......
This is his race car.

Was thinking about this a lot last night. As Graeme says there will be a lot of power going through those back wheels and I have no intention of tubbing etc.
I will try the LSD 1st ofc but for 2008 i'll probably add the traction system pretty high up on my list.

I guess it wouldnt hurt to ask the guy with the cobra what he wanted for his system that he cant use anymore (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/dontknow.gif)

You won't be using that last one, though, eh ?
Inspector Gadget is on the Loose!
Looks good Titsy, I assume the individual wheel speeds are for checking that the Passenger isn't going faster than you... (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/rofls.gif)
How much?
And would it work on my car?
you dont want to know, he quoted me around £1300 for the duster (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/shame.gif)
probably still do it though....one day....
How many cylinders?
Do you have ABS?
Is it injection?
EDIT: is it a manual or automatic trans?

8 cylinders (unlike some.... (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/tongue.gif))
no ABS
Fuel injection
Manual gearbox
It's not a realistic option for quite a while yet, but definitely a possibility in future. I like the idea from both a safety and speed point of view.
Ditto - Quote me please. (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/up.gif)
V8,

Don't ask how, but I could easily get full-throttle-shift thrown in for free (you don't lift your foot off the throttle, the traction engages a rev limiter when you hit the clutch allowing for faster gear changes....)
Obviously I'd be trying to get you the best discount on these prices I can, but if you three (Chris, Phil, & Dean), and anyone else is serious about fitting traction, then it might be worth trying to all purchase at the same time.... That we'd have more liverage to get a better discount on the price.... Bulk buy, bulk discount..... (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/up.gif)
Maybe setting up MKB as a dealer for a one off purchase to get dealer discounts....

Is that for parts only or does it include installation?
If I had the money I'd get it today. I don't though, and have no idea if/when I'll have that much available.
Thanks very much for the quote though - gives me something to aim for. (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/wink.gif)
I'd fit it for you, that would cost you a beer or two.... (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/cool.gif)
