Title: alarm and imobiliser
Post by: art b on December 10, 2007, 05:59:21 AM
lookin for an alarm for the nissan skyvan,
it has no alarm or imobiliser....(http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/shame.gif) they dont have need for em in japan..(http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/cool.gif)
any suggestions ,which curciuts would you imobilise,  one or more , starter, fuel pump, ignition, i assume the curciuts are best made at the fuse box,on the outgoing wires for the curciuts,
door remote locking, aux curciuts, thatcham cat 1 or two,any other consider ations

If it's an insurance requirement they will ask you for a copy of CAT 1 and installers certificate anyway (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/wink.gif)

Your going to need the clifford installer cdrom, i used to have a copy of it but gave it to the guy who bought the car which had the clifford installed. You might get luck if you look on hte web, it should have all the clifford wiring diagrams on it along with clifnet.

Alternativly give andy a call and have him install it, which is what i would personaly do cause if you get it wrong your gonna be left with a 1800kg paperweight

Yup but its only for the pro installers, i had a copy from andy. Almost all of the clifford alarms have a port for linking in the clifnet wizzard which enables you to solve problems  and configure all the alarms with a laptop

I think the major issue is actually routing the wires, finding ways through the bulkheads etc (http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/down.gif)

Its hiding everything, re taping the loom etc. the amount of car you need to remove is unreal.

Oh yeah art you might want to install some diodes on pin switches as i see andy doing this a couple of times on cars

yep the time consuming stuff,
will probably run plastic flex conduit around, and only use basic functions siren, bonnet switch, internal sensors, and imobilise a couple of curciuts near the fuse box,[bet i get carried away](http://www.mkb.cc/forum/smileys/rolleyes.gif)
its hardly an outstanding/stealworthy car, just need some thing for peace of mind,
