What's your opinions on doing the run down to the dyno day (and back) with no alternator?
I'm OK doing my daily commute(with a couple of hours on charge every 1-2 nights), but I ain't sure about a 100+ mile juant.
I figure I can take the charger with me, and top it up when we get there, but I am not sure if I would get there?
Personaly thats a long way to go with no alternator mate. If it was summer i might risk it but you only need bad weather when you need heater, lights wipers for the battery to be drained pretty quick
When a similar thing happend to my Rover 825D We got as far as Leighton Buzzard from Milton keynes on a charge, with the lights on for most of it(http://www.aaci-beds.co.uk/forum/smileys/confused.gif)
That's what I was figuring (http://www.aaci-beds.co.uk/forum/smileys/down.gif)
Anyone got a spare alt I can borrow for a weekend?

If I was taking the Caddy, I'd say you could borrow the 'Maros . . . I did have one kicking about the garage but binned it on a clear-out because I was unsure of the condition.
THe chav'scorts one is available . . . (http://www.aaci-beds.co.uk/forum/smileys/smirk.gif)
