new territory for me this ive got it stripped ready for cleaning and paint i am a bit wary of getting any crap n filth from prep work into places it shouldnt go so will lay the valley pan back in and block of any holes ect and keep going over eveything with air as i clean

any tips would be much appreciated   ie anything else i should do while i have the chance

i have a brand new edelbrock timing chain and gear set that i blagged years ago is it worth fitting ? are they much hassle to do ? if so i wont bother coz the one on it looks pretty good

i dunno which is scarier

well two of em and they are massive i wanna mount em above the garage door and was trying to think of something automotive in the center like an old air filter box and lid  

i could make a car bull out of an old bulnose front with horns on the top

ideas ?

looks like my a minature version of my garden

had a bit of an unexpected windfall this week so i thought about using it wisely (for about 1 nanosecond)  :hat:

one ram air 4 intake ported which is about as good as it gets for firebirds i just need to get the crossover to go with it and i have a ram air car   and with the change i nabbed a chrome dress up kit

seeing as i cant go to the NEC i thought id do a bit so tarted up the TH400 while its out of the formula

i should of done some before pics duh but anyways it was just filth as you can imagine, i blocked up the orifices and jet washed it then soaked in engine degreaser then jet washed the soaked, jet washed soaked ect

i then wire brushed the large areas and dremel'd the intricate bits so there was a nice surface for paint, then a wash with thinners and a blow with air and its ready for prime and paint

am well chuffed with the result just need to do the various brackets and vac modulator ect which will be silver colour to fit the chrome black scheme i am going for with this drivetrain

today i am taking the giblets out of the bull and the shell is going away for a bare metal resto  ;D

its alll been a bit sudden, i was in the middle of doing the 1st gen and that has been put to one side for now but all will be revealed in time

gonna enjoy messing about with the 400

just got the bloody thing running sweet and swapped it for this which aint a bad deal at all

rebuilt straight 6 atm new brakes ect just need finishing

i have allways had a hankering to build me one of these i noticed a half finished one while out walking the dogs today it looked like an abandoned project to me but in half decent condition

am thinking small block chevy

78 pontiac 301 free to collector working when removed all there minus dizzy carb and alt located 12 miles north of Brighton

right since changing the dizzy cap and rotor

the camaro idles erracticly, when you start it it sometimes it sits at 1100 and sometimes at 1900 while its doing this it occasionally dips a couple of 100 revs or idles erracticly for a few seconds the settles out

when you then put it in gear it drops several 100 revs and the engine dies 50% of the time

i had it die while slowly going round a roundabout

sometimes the engine check light comes on at startup and gives codes 34 and 36 which are both MAF sensor but i dont know if this is relevant coz the car has allways done this  :dontknow:
