A work colleague's father owns a 65 Chevy Impala.  It is a shell and was going to restore it.  He has bought almost everything new to go on it and the engine has been upgrated from the 5.2 to a 7.5.

The shell is in very good condition and really only needs the parts putting back on but unfortunately his health is deteriorating rather rapidly and wants to just get shot of it as it is.

Anyone guide me on what it could be worth so I can pass this information onto him.

If you need any more info please let me know and I can find out.

Many thanks

Purchase these Energy Suspension Polyurethane End Link bushes (grommets only) direct from Energy Suspension in the US but ordered the wrong part.

These arrived on my doorstep yesterday but are of no use to me.

Energy Suspension list them as universal use for most American Cars and light trucks.

Please check their website http://www.energysuspensionparts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=9.8106

Shipped to my door these cost £24 yours for £15 plus shipping.

General Banter / who uses virgin media
« on: June 25, 2010, 08:59:27 pm »
We're with Virgin Media.

20mb broadband
Lowest TV package (as we don't watch much)
bog standard telephone package

costs £31 per month

Only problems we had was that Virgin used to "throttle back" the broadband and we used to get around 6-7mb.   It wasn't until we realised what they were up to and made a few "angry" calls to them threatening to leave that since then we constantly get 20mb

137
Yep we are going in the Fiero and Trans Am :)

Lovely car but I'd say even Martyn's (better than showroom and newer) couldn't even command that kinda money.

Again, just my opinion, too.

But thats like comparing apples to pears as Martyn's is stock.  This one is far from it

just seems extremely high to me

i might be talking crap and dont want to cause offence just my opinion

You couldn't buy a 4th gen Trans Am in this condition and build it to this spec for anything like £10k.  Sure it's top of the 93-97 price range and obviously you don't get back what you put into a car but given the overall build cost - i think £10k is reasonable and of course that allows a little for maneouvre when negotiating  I guess time will tell

Not trying to be funny, but if you want 10k for a motor, you might want to think about a few pics showing the car as a whole and at least one interior pic showing the drivers seat and dash.....

Good luck with the sale and new purchase

Point taken about the interior pic - will get that sorted.
Not sure what you mean about the car as a whole - there are 3 pics of the whole car.
Cheers

the parts came to $72
shipping was $44

Good thing though - the parts are already in the UK ;)
There has got to be a problem when parcels get delivered from the US quicker than they do from the UK

Errr, the bank rate is currently $1.436 /£ so I don't know how the hell your managing that...

You'll most likely get a rate of $1.38 to $1.39 per £

I'm so sorry, but I was only quoting what I was charged yesterday when I ordered some suspension bits for my Fiero - in fact it was 1.568 or close too :)

The total for the bits and shipping was $116 and the amount that was taken from my bank was £73.98.

Also if the item is under a certain amount - it usually misses customs anyway and you avoid VAT, Duty and shipping company admin fees!!!! :)

But like has been said - is it worth the small amount of savings - just buy from eBay or similar from somewhere over here ;)

Well before shipping the US one is £19 approx and the UK one is £41.98 inc shipping.

So if the shipping for the US is no more than 37 USD then you are quids in.

Funny thing is though you'll probably get them delivered around the same timescale :)

I am using 1.6 conversion rate as that's what it was yesterday when I ordered stuff from the US :)

I will put a link up to one item and you can look at my other items for sale if you like :)

Projects / Trans-Am
« on: April 11, 2010, 08:24:57 pm »
The Trans-Am has been off the road since September last year and over the past 2 weeks we have been spending time working on her.   We had ordered from the US a lot of suspension bits n pieces.

With the suspension parts now on, she sits about 1 inch lower - not too much but enough to make a hell of a difference to handling.

Well, this morning she was back on four wheels and outside for a big wash and polish reading for next Saturday's MOT (fingers crossed!) and then if she passes we will be off to Billing on Sunday.

Anyway, before we got a call from our friends who's Firebird's engine decided to go bang, I took some pictures (on my iphone so not the best!) and here they are:

Enjoy!
