In the spirit of my current 'I've been hoarding for years and really should clear some space' project I have decided to sell both pairs of my AKG Q701 headphones.  They're pretty much the best ones AKG make and are considered to be at the very top end of the market.  If you're in to hifi at all you'll know the brand :)  They are available in black, white and lime green.  I have them in black. These are brand new and still sealed from the factory.  I bought them to do an install in a car (2 dvd screens in the back of the head rests) but plans have changed.

Here is some info on the headphones from the manufacturer
Flat-out perfection. You’d expect nothing less from Quincy Jones.
Sparkling harmonics, incredibly low distortion and unequalled realism in the lower frequencies – it’s the huge, airy, three-dimensional sound available only in the finest high-end speaker systems and microphones. Now, we’ve engineered it into the most accurate and responsive reference headphones we‘ve ever produced, the Q 701s. Hear music exactly as the artist intended in true surround sound.

Q 701s employ flat-wire voice-coil technology, our patented Varimotion multilayer diaphragm and the AKG neodymium-magnet system for sparkling high-frequency signal tracking and a distortion-free bass response. Q 701s produce balanced stereo separation and precision 3D imaging in an immersive soundscape of unequalled realism.

'These are the only headphones I’ve heard that bring out the true sound we were striving for on records like "Billie Jean", "Thriller" and "Give Me the Night". It’s the best-quality sound I’ve heard, ever.' - Quincy Jones

Product Description
The AKG Q701 reference-class premium headphones represent a momentous partnership with AKG and one of the most accomplished musicians of the 20th century: Quincy Jones- an American icon whose productions include the best-selling album (Thriller) and single (We Are the World) of all time. Quincy has received an unprecedented 79 GRAMMY nominations and 27 GRAMMY awards, more than any other living artist. It stands to reason that the headphones he puts his name to must be nothing but the very best-and the Q701s are the most accurate and responsive headphones AKG has ever produced. Reference denotes a class of audio equipment that imparts little to no change to the input audio signal, producing a huge, airy, three-dimensional sound. The over-ear headphones feature revolutionary flat-wire voice coils that create a spacious, dramatic soundstage with precise 360-degree imaging and outstanding transient response. Patented two-layer diaphragms similar to their professional studio counterparts offer sparkling high-frequency sound and accurate bass response. Additionally, a high-performance neodymium magnet system makes the headphones heat-resistant for minimal distortion at any listening level. The Q701s deliver pinpoint imaging with unmatched realism.Says Quincy, This is the best quality sound I've heard in headphones, ever. And I'm proud my name is on them.AKG Quincy Jones Signature Series Q701 Premium Class Reference Headphones Features:Revolutionary flat-wire voice coilPatented Varimotion 2-layer diaphragmHigh-performance neodymium magnetstotally open-back designHigh-performance, 99.99% oxygen-free cableProfessional 6.3mm stereo plugUnique 3D-Form earpads for perfect fitCushioned, genuine-leather headbandIndividually tested and serialized

I have 2 pairs of Q701 headphones, still factory sealed in the boxes.  The RRP is £349.99 but most places sell at £299.99.  They sell on eBay, at £200 plus delivery (sometimes from abroad).  I'm selling these at £200 delivered or £185 collected (per pair).

Here are some photos:

Any questions, please just ask :)

would anyone be interested in a pair of WEEKEND tickets to this year'c Country2Country festival in London?  I, as usual, got trigger happy and bought too many tickets!!

They sell for anywhere between £120 and £350 per ticket, per day!  That's an average of £920 for what I'm holding in these passes!!  I'm not looking for anywhere near that much!  That's just ticket touts taking the pi55 in my opinion!

Our spare tickets are: Block 110, Row Z, Seat 312-313.  That's on the right hand side, near the top of block 110:

The view is great from there as its tiered so there's no random tall bloke in front of you.  I originally bought these for my parents and then got trigger happy and bought them seats in the stalls near us!

It is the same 2 seats for the whole weekend, last year was incredible and this year is set to be even better.

This years line up is:
Brad Paisley
Zac Brown Band
Dixie Chicks
Chris Young
Martina Mcbride
The Band Perry
Rascal Flatts
Dierks Bentky

as well as loads of others playing in the concourse!

Tickets are in hand here ready to be sent.  They're a printable pdf so I can email it over immediately or print it and hand it over, whichever suits :)

I'd be looking for somewhere in the region of £500 for the whole lot, that's only a tiny bit more than what you could pay a random tout for 4 seats spread all over the place.  Assuming you got them at the lowest price.  It's a deal, it's a steal, it's sale of the frikkin century!!!!

Feel free to make me an offer, there are currently 0 weekend passes for sale anywhere else, most have been split in to single day passes which ruins it :(

Classifieds & Useful eBay Links / Apple TV For Sale
« on: December 13, 2013, 04:57:38 pm »
Hi everyone, having a bit of a technology refresh at home so Im selling my original Apple TV, 1st generation with the original 160GB hard drive. I am only selling this one as I have upgraded to the new model.

I have owned this since new and it has never failed, never been taken apart to upgrade the hard drive (as many have) and has only ever had Apple software updates, this box has never been 'jail broken'.

The Apple TV itself is in as new condition, as you can see from the photos I have wiped it to factory settings and is therefore running the original software. It can be upgraded though the menu as can be seen in the picture.

Condition wise externally it is unmarked, it has always been looked after and has survived as such.

The power cable has 'Apple TV' written on it as to help me identify it among all the plugs behind the tv.

The original remote control is still wrapped in the original Apple plastic that it was supplied in. It has never been unwrapped and is still on its original battery. The plastic is a little grubby but I assume the winning bidder will want to remove the wrapping anyway.

Delivery will be by courier or collection is welcomed.

I've currently got it listed on eBay where they go for between £90-£120ish.  I'd happily take an offer on it from someone on here :)

anyone interested in a great piece of hardware??

Having a bit of a deeper clear out this week so I've got a few bits that I thought I'd try on here first, before the dreaded eBay

First is a 10" sub box, carpeted in black. Very clean and tidy condition, the carpet around the main aperture has come unglued very slightly but once a sub is fitted this is completely hidden. It's only unglued about 3mm in from the edge, nothing really. I was going to fit it in the fox but I've decided to go for a 12" as it suits my musical tastes better. Paid £30 a few years ago and it's just sat ever since. Looking for £15.

Secondly is a hahnel slide projector, again in very good condition, has the viewer so you can see e images on the display rather than the wall. This viewer comes off to allow normal projection. It's in it's original box and the lamp is all good. I bought this for a photography project but ended up using a digital version in the end. So again, this was bought with the best of intentions and then sat unused in the garage! Spotting a pattern? I paid £50 for this and I'd like to ask £30 please. I realise its a niche market . Some one must have a box of old slides they'd like to look at

Lastly (for now) is a bricky tool. It's basically a red plastic trough which you lay on top of the course of bricks and fill with mortar, it's a template to allow you to get the right thickness of mortar. I used it for my garage extension and it was awesome, I'm sure a professional brick layer has no need for such a thing but as I'd never done any block laying before this really helped. I built the whole extension and it was worth very penny. However, I'm now out of space to build any thing else so I thought someone else might fancy it. Only after £10.

Collection from Cheshunt is preferred please although I will of course post the items out at cost price if needed.

Classifieds & Useful eBay Links / BC Rich Warlock guitar for sale
« on: April 17, 2013, 09:17:04 am »
I'm selling my BC Rich Warlock Platinum as I just don't play it anymore.  It's in pretty good condition, it has a few marks on it which have been touched in, all are pictured.  It was res-strung when I bought it last year and set up properly.  It plays beautifully and has a real heavy sound from the Humbuckers.  Here are some pics;

no marks on the back from buckles etc.....

tiny scratch on back of head

original pickups

2 tiny splits in the black paint on the head stock

looks like it had a ding here which someone's touched in with black enamel

a crack around the bottom tone knob, may have been hit on the knob (!)  It all still works perfectly though.

With all the damage it's not worth what I'd originally thought, I've dropped my price from £250 down £180.  Any takers, I can deliver it up to MK in the next few weeks if that'd help,

Classifieds & Useful eBay Links / LOADS of CDs for sale, all with pics
« on: March 15, 2013, 11:10:05 am »
I've just spent the last 2 days cleaning out the spare room and come accross a couple of boxes of OLD CDs.  Before I bung them on ebay or in the 'carboot' bin I thought I'd ask here first:

Singles are £1, Albums are £2, MultiDiscs are £3.. postage fee at whatever RM charge plus a jiffy bag :)

Dont laugh/judge , these are from the last 20 years and include presents, Gem's stuff, things I've clearly pillaged from others and stuff I don't even remember owning!

Classifieds & Useful eBay Links / windows 2003 server (oem) for sale
« on: March 07, 2013, 10:00:30 am »
anyone interested in a brand new legal version of windows 2003 server, either standard or r2?

they've never been used and have been sat around for a while now taking up space on the shelf, waiting for me o build a server, which, now I've got a NAS, isn't going to happen!

These have never been opened and the codes are obviously unused, they have 5 client licenses with them too so its the full deal!

disc is on the other side

they seem to sell on ebay for £300 each (i have them listed there too) but I'd take £250 each if someone here wants them.  Even if its for where you work or whatever!

let me know and i can pull the ebay listing

Classifieds & Useful eBay Links / Garage rack with storage bins
« on: January 26, 2013, 10:49:44 pm »
I've got one of these for sale. Again, it's industrial grade not a flimsy DIY store effort!

It's double sided, and will hold 64 of these big yellow bins. The panel measures 2foot wide and 4foot tall. The base is 24"by 28".

They are 6" wide, 5" deep and 9" long. The clear plastic bit lifts up slightly then folds forward if you need it to.

I have the double sided rack and all 64 of the bins for sale.

Here are some of the bins.....

I can sell this in 1 of 2 ways. Either I can sell it as it is, dual sided, on the wheels with 64 bins for £160

OR

I can remove the base and sell the metal frame with a single louvred panel (so it can be wall mounted) with 32 bins for £85, or leave it on the base for £100

The other panel will be mounted to a wooden frame, so as to be wall mountable and sold with the other 32 bins for £75.  I'd have to sell both parts this way,

So..... Any takers, either way?

Anyone interested in this mint Sony Vaio p11z/q?  It's a full laptop rather than a net book, 2gb ram, brand new 60gb hdd, and processor and a screen with such a high res it'll make your eyes bleed!  Runs windows vista. Oem license sticker and fresh install.

There are a few tiny marks on the lid, the battery isn't the best now either. New ones can be had for £30 though. Looking for £250 but with the battery not being the best (lasts about an hour) I'm only after £220

Any takers

Classifieds & Useful eBay Links / 24" iMac for sale
« on: May 22, 2012, 03:55:27 pm »
I'll be selling my iMac shortly, I'm having to use a dell :( PC for work now :( :(

Spec wise it's an intel core duo 2.4ghz, 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD and is the 24" uber IPS display!  1920X1200 res, not the usual 1920X1080 cheap tv panel jobbies.

Its running snow leopard which will be included, comes boxed as new, original cds, and manuals etc.  It can also be supplied running dual boot windows vista home premium.  I bought windows especially for the mac so I guess it can go with it.  If not I can sell it separately.  Runs vista better than any PC ive come accross, zero driver issues and NO crashes!!

Its a very fast machine, even by today's standards, shame I can no longer use it for work due to our crappy arse OLD CAD software :(

It has been a perfect machine all the time I've had it, I've only carried out one repair, which was my own doing.  I cut a tiny thin cable while putting the case back together after cleaning it, it's the cable for the temperature sensor.  It has been soldered properly and wrapped.  This was about 6 months ago and has caused absolutely no issues.

The screen has a couple of yellow tinted areas, only visible in some lights, in some cases, on certain backgrounds.  Apparently It can be caused by dust behind the glass.  After the cable incident I refused to take it apart to clean it again.  The yellow marks are not noticeable but wanted to mention it anyway, full discloseure and all that.

Price wise Im not sure, I've seen them actually sell on ebay for £500 in this spec, with the yellow marks, the repair etc, I'd probably ask £450.  I'd be happier doing a deal with one of you though, I'd be prepared to knock a bit off :)

Even if you dont necessarilly need the mac for the maccy goodness, it runs windows better than anything other home computer!!!

c'mon, let me feel the fibre of your fabric :)

Classifieds & Useful eBay Links / Blue storage bins for sale, cheap
« on: February 14, 2011, 03:50:18 pm »

I got a whole bunch of these things, the large ones are 20cm wide, 10cm deep and 50cm long, the narrow ones are 10x10x40.  Also got a couple of longer narrow ones, 10x10x50.  Sizes are approximate only!

All used in a sound stage production company so have lables on them with various resistive values, nut codes, part numbers or bin numbers.  From what I can tell they had thousands of these things !!

Ive got 1 of the big ones, 10 of the small ones and about 5 of the long narrow ones.  Open to offers I guess, must be worth at least £4-5 each

I can courier the whole lot for and extra £10, or collection is free.

any takers ?

I've had a bosch dishwasher in the garage for a while now, it all works fine, it was second hand when I got it but that didnt matter to me as I only intended to wash car parts in it to get the worst of the grease off !!  I ran a load of pistons and rods though it and they came out totally free of grime... pucker!

anyway, with the new garage extension being a different lay out, Im getting rid of this.  I dont want anything for it, save for maybe a beer or two, but it must be gone this coming weekend (19th-20th)  If it isnt collected it'll be going down to the dump,

any takers ?

Computers and Games / I need a new PC, advice please :)
« on: February 01, 2011, 10:42:55 am »
Ok, so we all know I'm a Mac user (for my sins) BUT i have windows installed on my 24"iMac for work.  I only really reboot it in to OSX at the weekends (or some evenings) depending on what I want to do.

Here's the snag....  I want to keep the Mac on all the time, as my own personal machine, and buy a new machine for work.  My requirements for the PC are as follows:

1/ VERY quiet - the iMac is practically silent and I've got VERY used to it!
2/ fairly small, no full size tower cases, tbh it'll go on the floor under the desk
3/ must be able to run 2 26" monitors at 1920x1200
4/ must be 32bit native as our AutoCAD wont run on 64bit architecture
5/ windows vista
6/ probably 4GB RAM
7/ HDD unimportant size wise really, but fast as hell would be a benefit

I wont be playing games on it at all, it will be purely used for work, a sound card would be nice, onboard I assume, gigabit ethernet, all of which I assume are standard on most mobos now.

So....

any ideas ?  mainly on the quiet part, I can spec a nice machine from bits, but i think it will be deafening compared to the iMac.

helpf ??

£429 is the price on the paper... which is obviously wrong.. in WHICH universe do they think I'm paying over £100 more than last year, thats around 30%.. fook off

Now I subscribe to the infinite number of universes theory, so in some of the universes my saleen is finished, the fox body is painted and the house is done, but I can assure you, in NO universe am I paying £429 to insure the fox.....

let the battle begin..... on my signal, unleash hell......
