how about one of these matey :)

I made it a few years back but it's for sale now ;)

It's a proper OMP seat mounted to a £350 office chair's frame!  It has the arms still and adjusts more ways than a cheap hooker!  Still has the full compliment of wheels too so would negate the need for long rails but you could take them off or figure a clamp to hold the chair still once in position.

How do you fancy that?

the chair... not a cheap hooker... although.... why choose.... anyway, that's for another thread!

In the spirit of my current 'I've been hoarding for years and really should clear some space' project I have decided to sell both pairs of my AKG Q701 headphones.  They're pretty much the best ones AKG make and are considered to be at the very top end of the market.  If you're in to hifi at all you'll know the brand :)  They are available in black, white and lime green.  I have them in black. These are brand new and still sealed from the factory.  I bought them to do an install in a car (2 dvd screens in the back of the head rests) but plans have changed.

Here is some info on the headphones from the manufacturer
Flat-out perfection. You’d expect nothing less from Quincy Jones.
Sparkling harmonics, incredibly low distortion and unequalled realism in the lower frequencies – it’s the huge, airy, three-dimensional sound available only in the finest high-end speaker systems and microphones. Now, we’ve engineered it into the most accurate and responsive reference headphones we‘ve ever produced, the Q 701s. Hear music exactly as the artist intended in true surround sound.

Q 701s employ flat-wire voice-coil technology, our patented Varimotion multilayer diaphragm and the AKG neodymium-magnet system for sparkling high-frequency signal tracking and a distortion-free bass response. Q 701s produce balanced stereo separation and precision 3D imaging in an immersive soundscape of unequalled realism.

'These are the only headphones I’ve heard that bring out the true sound we were striving for on records like "Billie Jean", "Thriller" and "Give Me the Night". It’s the best-quality sound I’ve heard, ever.' - Quincy Jones

Product Description
The AKG Q701 reference-class premium headphones represent a momentous partnership with AKG and one of the most accomplished musicians of the 20th century: Quincy Jones- an American icon whose productions include the best-selling album (Thriller) and single (We Are the World) of all time. Quincy has received an unprecedented 79 GRAMMY nominations and 27 GRAMMY awards, more than any other living artist. It stands to reason that the headphones he puts his name to must be nothing but the very best-and the Q701s are the most accurate and responsive headphones AKG has ever produced. Reference denotes a class of audio equipment that imparts little to no change to the input audio signal, producing a huge, airy, three-dimensional sound. The over-ear headphones feature revolutionary flat-wire voice coils that create a spacious, dramatic soundstage with precise 360-degree imaging and outstanding transient response. Patented two-layer diaphragms similar to their professional studio counterparts offer sparkling high-frequency sound and accurate bass response. Additionally, a high-performance neodymium magnet system makes the headphones heat-resistant for minimal distortion at any listening level. The Q701s deliver pinpoint imaging with unmatched realism.Says Quincy, This is the best quality sound I've heard in headphones, ever. And I'm proud my name is on them.AKG Quincy Jones Signature Series Q701 Premium Class Reference Headphones Features:Revolutionary flat-wire voice coilPatented Varimotion 2-layer diaphragmHigh-performance neodymium magnetstotally open-back designHigh-performance, 99.99% oxygen-free cableProfessional 6.3mm stereo plugUnique 3D-Form earpads for perfect fitCushioned, genuine-leather headbandIndividually tested and serialized

I have 2 pairs of Q701 headphones, still factory sealed in the boxes.  The RRP is £349.99 but most places sell at £299.99.  They sell on eBay, at £200 plus delivery (sometimes from abroad).  I'm selling these at £200 delivered or £185 collected (per pair).

Here are some photos:

Any questions, please just ask :)

cheers

Dude!  I didn't even think to ask you as I knew you had tickets already :)

I'll do you a solid deal, don't worry about that pricing :)

Quoting: Titsy
But you are a ticket tout even if your pretending not to be...

never said i wasn't touting some tickets, just said I wasn't asking for almost a grand, which is taking the piss..

Quoting: Titsy
That's not a bad profit margin you're running there considering the face value is somewhere between £115.00 - £135.00...

assuming you know for certain what I paid for the tickets?

Quoting: Titsy
tickets you 'accidentally' bought to many of...

for a start there's two Os on too... but, I never said I bought them accidentally, I was honest about why I have them spare!

Quoting: EDGE
I originally bought these for my parents and then got trigger happy and bought them seats in the stalls near us!

Not sure what you're getting at really?  What's your issue here?

would anyone be interested in a pair of WEEKEND tickets to this year'c Country2Country festival in London?  I, as usual, got trigger happy and bought too many tickets!!

They sell for anywhere between £120 and £350 per ticket, per day!  That's an average of £920 for what I'm holding in these passes!!  I'm not looking for anywhere near that much!  That's just ticket touts taking the pi55 in my opinion!

Our spare tickets are: Block 110, Row Z, Seat 312-313.  That's on the right hand side, near the top of block 110:

The view is great from there as its tiered so there's no random tall bloke in front of you.  I originally bought these for my parents and then got trigger happy and bought them seats in the stalls near us!

It is the same 2 seats for the whole weekend, last year was incredible and this year is set to be even better.

This years line up is:
Brad Paisley
Zac Brown Band
Dixie Chicks
Chris Young
Martina Mcbride
The Band Perry
Rascal Flatts
Dierks Bentky

as well as loads of others playing in the concourse!

Tickets are in hand here ready to be sent.  They're a printable pdf so I can email it over immediately or print it and hand it over, whichever suits :)

I'd be looking for somewhere in the region of £500 for the whole lot, that's only a tiny bit more than what you could pay a random tout for 4 seats spread all over the place.  Assuming you got them at the lowest price.  It's a deal, it's a steal, it's sale of the frikkin century!!!!

Feel free to make me an offer, there are currently 0 weekend passes for sale anywhere else, most have been split in to single day passes which ruins it :(

Of course I would have to take a handling fee as...

you should not pimp out your girlfriend, on valentines day, for car parts....

unless you need a set of 30lb injectors... in which case, I'm your guy!

hmmmm... I was thinking of asking the same question next month as I'd really like a new Mac but if I take a student in to the Mac store, or if they order it online I get a huge discount, which I'd be happy to pay for ;)

General Banter / need any audi spares ..?
« on: February 09, 2014, 11:33:50 am »
no chance that was done there.  That's probably the carcas of a stolen stripped shell, bet the ID's gone.  The one stuck in the water is probably half way to Africa in a shipping container by now...

simple switch, no one's going to think anything of a car being recovered on a flat bed are they.....

I've got a tyre like that sitting in my parent's shed!  I was going to use it as a planter too!!  I think mine is a Goodyear slick, about the same size...

Ended up using 2 295/35/18 tyres stacked on top of each other in the end.  Found a pot which sits PERFECTLY in the bead and planted a fig tree in it!  looks great :)

most... i mean it was still an 80's 3rd gen.....

i tried to explain what driving the fox body was like to someone who owns a 2007 Saleen....

I said it was exactly the same as his brand new Saleen, just imagine someone had gone though the entire car loosening EVERY nut/bolt/screw clip by 2 turns!!

if you're happy with the fit of the bolt ons, weld them on... over time the bolt holes seem to elongate and then they wont help much.... just rattle :)

I've got custom frame connectors on the Saleen and over a stock car the difference is utterly amazing.  A friend has a stock 98 and it bends and twists like a twinkie in the paws of a fat NY city cop.

Andy had custom subframe connectors on his 3rd gen and it stopped most of the dash rattles as the shell was now stiffer.
