Would you rather drive a Dodge Van or a Mercedes Van

Badge snobbery apparently even extends into the humble world of commercial vehicles.
Apparently, a company called OEM Sprinter Parts is offering complete kits to turn your Dodge or Freightliner-branded Sprinter into its Mercedes counterpart.

The Montana-based company offers a complete range of conversion kits, including ones that supply a full Benz grille, a 316CDI grille nameplate, replacement wheel hubs, door decals, and so on. The kits even come with steering wheel badges and a Mercedes' "signature windshield decal." for $295.

You can identify the drivers by the styling as well. The black's tend to gold plate the badges whilst the asian's tend to add gold or chrome wheel arch accents

All a bit sad, really, isn't it ?

Bet if you asked the mass of UK van drivers they'd say Mercedes

Mind you may be there right

If you own a 2007 Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep listen up, because you're likely affected by Chrysler's latest recall. DaimlerChrysler is bringing home more than 68,000 vehicles to reprogram balky brake computers.

The 11 affected models are 2007 versions of the Sebring, 300, Charger, Magnum, Caliber, Commander, Grand Cherokee, Liberty, Nitro and Compass. Whew

Chrysler says computers in the recalled vehicles' could fail, leading to a loss of antilock brakes, traction control and speedomter functions, nothing major then

thats not as bad as the tire recall a few years back think it was ford that the SUV tires were delaminating
