Yup lots of racers build their own intakes from sheet metal or carbon

this was made by one of the guys on PZ

sheet metal intakes can work very, very well.... IF, and only IF you know what you're doing.. there are ridiculous amounts of things to take in to account.. you cant just knock something up that looks like it should work... thats a sure fire way to loose power...

Yup hence the reason its mainly done by the race boys usually tailored to their own exact engine specification
