Well I've just started to try out the new camera

This first shot was in the garage under florescent lighting with auto flash :

Exactly the same shot but using the max 15x optical zoom :

The same shot but with the camera held close without zoom :

I then turned off all the lights, without flash :

In dark with camera in infrared mode and I mean it was pitch black !

In the dark with auto flash, just a few more shadows on the other side of the engine bay

It seems pretty good, it isn't as small as a compact but it is smaller than an SLR and lighter. The menu's are really simple as well

It's also got a smile recognition mode, you press the shutter button and the camera waits until the person is smiling to take the picture. I tried it at various different distances with the kids and it works, dammed if I know how
