O.K, Then.

Several options with my car . . .

1)

To get a 350cid built in the states.  No supercharger.  Quite a bit of cash.

2)

To get a 350cid built in the states.  With Supercharger.  Mega money.
It will need new tranny.

3)

Rebuild the 305cid as stock.  Cheap and reliable.

4)

Rebuild the 305cid as a stroker (340cid) and bore it 60 thou over.
New heads.  (I'd like a high-rise intake . . . . )
Second cheapest option.

5)

Then there's also the Laughing gas option . . .

. . . . .

Your thoughts Gentlemen.

4 is definitely the best option listed, but what about getting a cheap 350 over here and rebuilding that?

The stroker kit runs around $700 mate cheaper than buying a junked 350

Thing is, I WILL eventually want a 350cid, so anything I get for the 305cid I would want to be able to transfer across.

eg. Manifold, Carb(S) . . . . . . Headers ???

It's important to note :

The more money I chuck at the Maro, the less I've got for the Caddy.

And the Caddy should be my priority when it comes to projects.

crate engine with rebuilt tranny.

normaly the cheapest long run option, as you can upgrade things like cams and heads later knowing you aren't going to expose a worn weak link in the engine that up to now has been undetected.

a crate egnie with 250 - 300BHP should go like a rocket in the camaro, the goodwrench 350 is a good start, and of course, built by chevy themselves, so you know its right.

there are dodgy crate engines out there...

Has phil'O' got shares in goocwrench? if you go to a good builder you can get a better build than a GM and a good builder will offer a waranty as well.

no, starting wit a new goodwrench 350 would be moving forwards, new block (your block is stock anyway, just old and worn)  they have a LOT more power than the lump in yours at the moment..

they also respond very well to a mild cam and ally heads, well over 330BHP just by bolting on those things at a later date.

one of the guys in the US is running exactly that combo, through a TH350 auto, and is running mid 13's

I Don't want to keep coming back to the Camaro . . . I wanna do it . . . then be able to be happy with it for a while instead of thinking - what next ?

Don't forget the Cadillac should be taking my time and money - NOT the Camaro.

Also I'm Gonna bin the old heater (blower) motor soon as I Very much doubt it's gonna go back.

And the heater core which (Hopefully) Andy's bringing with him will probably end up redundant.

Anyone (with a Third Gen) want to make a reasonable offer ?? - For the core, that its.

As soon as Xmas is out of the way the Air ride is the priority.

I've worked my arse-off getting the Overdraft paid off and the credit card lowered . . .

Time to spend some ££££ me thinks . . .
