Also I've made a decision on the Lump.

350ci Definately,  High rise, Dual Carb to mate up with my existing tranny but also mate-able to a similar 5/6 speed.

The Supercharger option can come at a later date.

Is a Stroker 350/383ci gonna help me go faster ?

(In a straight line.)

I thought Strokers increase top end torque/pick up at higher speeds . . .

Stroker engines do indeed produce more torque, i will ask some more questions this afternoon when the USA wakes up mate

Although with the recent goings on (and cost) Re the Chav'scort I would like to start planning the Camaro out a bit more thoroughly.

If a 383cid is best then fine but the thing will be 70% road use (ie. starting and stopping, starting and stopping . . ) and only about 30% Drag use.

Maybe when the day comes to add a supercharger it'll be 100% Drag but 'til then . . .

A 383 stroker should be plenty streetable mate, and providing your sensable with the gas pedal should be reasonable economical

well a 4cyl diesel would but that aint gonna happen now is it

on long runs your gonna get a reasonable fuel return, i would guess high teens low 20's

If your going with a twin carb i would use a progressive linkage that way the more the pedals pushed the second carb would come into play, so driving aoround town only the first stages of the carb would be open, but when you floor it all 8 venturi will be sucking gas

Yup.

What I Mean is if a 383ci is best for top-end torgue, surely that's best for circuit racing where you are slowing slightly, then nailing back up to top speed.
A 350ci Would rev higher getting you to top speed quicker ???????

The torque comes from the longer stroke, where that comes in will depend on the cam.

Shorter stroke does mean better revving and quicker pick up, but you have to balance it against the loss of torque. The heavier the car, the more torque you want.

I Suppose the difference is you can say your engine is X-BHP or your car is X-BHP . . . . .
