The Proposed Launching of "www.Roadkill -- . . . ."
« on: October 25, 2005, 10:59:00 pm »
I've been planning it for a while, but I'm now seriously thinking that now is a good time to launch my own site.

Mainly it will be dedicated to my projects/cars past and present.
(That itself should fill a few pages)

Also I'm intending to add work I've done on others motors (ie. the Duster)

Another idea is to (possibly) have a page dedicated to my Tattoo's . . . I currently have three, with another Eight on the drawing board . . .

Of course the MKB will find its way in somewhere and I'll include bit most likely from the bigger "Get togethers" over the Season(s).

Basically I'm after any ideas from you fine Gentlemen . . . . also any info on the best places to get names, prices etc . . .

Despite some objection, I'm fully intending to go .com instead of .co.uk - Unless someone can give me a bloody good reason otherwise.

So Please.

Comment.

P.S - I Do know the name I want, and yes, it IS apparently available.

Oh.

And no I'm not doing the site.

That's Chris' payment for doing the Dusting over the Year(s).

I have just taken out a damn good hosting package with ukhost4u (their 49-99 per year deal) which gives ya 2GB webspace, 100gb bandwidth etc - ver good recommendations to them so worth giving a thought to them (www.ukhost4u.com).

As for domain names - just find the cheapest place to register it then alter the nameservers to the hosting company - thats how mine works

Value for money, our current hosts for aaci-beds.co.uk are hard to beat £20+Vat per year for hosting (domain is separate - more later)

They are www.webmania.co.uk

Another alternative, but slightly more expensive is www.fasthosts.co.uk They also offer what might be cheaper domain registration through their sister company.

So long as you remember I can only do pretty basic stuff

Kinda like what you've got already.....maybe a bit better with finance behind the project.

I will say yes, but we'll see what happens in practise.

I have given up my scrutineering job next year to free up some weekends.

Any help, appreciated, as always.

I Know Chris is booked into start the thing off, but I want it to be big in it's own right.
And I haven't got a clue.
