The battery life limitation is surely easy to solve?
When it gets down to 10% they just go and land on an inductive charging pad?

that's the bit that was troubling me, they must just not be accurate enough... still, if the us military can fly a missile down a laser beam, the required tech does exist... just shrouded in secrecy, due to its uses....
