Ian, sad to hear about your woes. Racks going are pretty rare I thought, but if you are thinking of stripping it give me a shout. There might be some parts I'm looking for.

Gunna try sell it as is - if not scrap yard for it - don't have the time / space to break it myself unfortunately

No worries Fieldy

The guys on the Mondeo forum have confirmed that around there is the Oil Pressure Sensor.

This is a helpful picture one of them posted up:

So, I'll order one and fit on Friday

However, it looks like it is hard to get to as you can't see it and it is behind everything

I did around 700 that was bad enough.
At least I didn't have to use my own car though.

Don't mind . . . it made me around £365 after you deduct the cost of the diesel.

WTF are you working as now to do that kind of mileage?

Good luck, CP.

All done and I THINK it has stopped the oil leak. It was hassle though as I had to go and buy a long 22 socket to reach over the end of the sensor. Also, you had to do it by feel as you couldn't see it.

This was taken after about 10 mins of idling.

I also did the drop-link / anti-roll bar link on that side whilst I was there as that side makes a knocking noise, so just trying to eliminate potential issues.

(This was an after picture as I was cleaning up - so don't worry, axle stands were used )

Although the crank shaft seal looks a bit roapy I think this has a slight oil leak too

Thanks for everyone's help. I'll just take it easy with the ol' car
