Whether an Apple fan or not, this guy was a pretty damn fine businessman, turning around what could be considered was a floundering company to be one of the biggest electrical consumer goods companies around. Who would've thought that 4 years ago, one of the most wanted computing items would be a tablet, with no keyboard or mouse!

BBC - Steve Jobs dies, aged 56, after transforming digital technology at Apple, the firm he co-founded, with President Obama saying "the world has lost a visionary"

An absolute sad day - he was a fine fine man.

Our nephew works in Apple HQ in the US and met him and says he was such a down to earth guy and someone you could really call a "friend".

That's gotta be a fun job! I know some of my more geeky friends would love a job there.

Only needed to buy one, and after 2 1/2 years with the same model and it only being replaced after I foolishly plugged it into a cheap Chinese charger unit, I'm happy.

You can't deny their stuff just works! But this is about their products, it's about the guy who started off building this stuff in his garage with a like minded computer geek!

Just read he sold his VW Van to fund the venture.

sad news,
a guy who had visions and saw them through,
 Love or loathe Apple, having used the products  {personally, I'm a fan}
Steve Jobs changed the way people look at technology,
possibly more profoundly than Bill Gates.

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary." ~ Steve Jobs, 2005

Reading this forum on my Mac

Read the news on my iPad

Have text my Bro-In-Law this morning with the news off my iPhone

I for one am not an 'Apple Geek', I simply buy these products because when I want them to work, and do the job I want them to do, they simply 'do'.

Thank you Mr Jobs.

Spot on, the guy had a way at looking at technology the way the man in the street did, and made it for him. Apple was recently declared the most valuable business in the world, so he obviously knew something the rest of the world didn't, and its always a sad day when someone like that dies.

Absolutely, 100%,

To be honest, didn't even know who the guy was until a few days ago.
