Any of you Mac guys run Apple TV? Is it worthy of the £99? I'm trying to work out if it'll stream iPlayer on any on demand stuff.

Naw, I have a Samsung Internet / SmartTV which has iPlayer etc as part of it's 'Apps'.

It also has two USB slots to attach a hard-disc to which I store my movies on

I would only get one if you love your TV and do not want to replace it, otherwise get an LED TV that is Internet enabled which also has USB slots
1968 VW T2 Bay Bus (currently being restored and upgraded)
1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ (modern classic daily driver)

Weighing this up at the minute £300 ish for a smart tv w/ internet, or £99 for Apple tv and the ability to stream stuff from my MBP.

We have an Apple TV and it's great. You can run your iTunes through it and even YouTube

We have also digitised all our movies and pictures and run it all through it.

Best kit we were bought IMHO
1998 Fiero GT (my toy)
2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8 (Hubbys new toy!)

I have the original AppleTV.

I use it to stream music to my surround system and rent movies from iTunes.

I used to use it for loads more but I also now have a Samsung Smart TV with  iPlayer etc and it pulls videos directly from my NAS drive so as soon as something has downloaded to it (my torrent client runs on the NAS) I can watch it.

I just plug my laptop into my 42" LCD, that is via the HDMI.

I then have various remotes on my iPad/iPhone to control whatever I want and they work as a single screen or a dual screen.
