Best place for aluminium strip?
« on: October 06, 2012, 05:27:52 pm »
I need 4 lengths of 4-5mm aluminium (or any bright metal that won't corrode)  to finish off my shed, 1200mm x 85-100mm. Can't seem to find anyone local who stocks other than companies who are only interested in selling me lots more than I actually need.

Anyone able to point me in the right direction?

You'll probably find that is the case I'm afraid, a lot of the metal companies run on minimum line values annoyingly.

We use Aalco for our Aluminium supplies, whether they'd be interested or not, I don't know.

I only need enough to finish of the gable ends on the new shed roof rather than replacing the wooden bargeboard  which rots after a year or two, I got quoted £190 by one company!!!

Let me speak to a guy tomorrow.  I'll see what he's got in stock.

I'm assuming something like 3mm stainless would do, also ?
