Has anyone else been cursed with the new Chrome update ?
« on: September 30, 2013, 12:16:36 pm »
Mine updated recently.

OMFG - what a nasty P.O.S !

If anyone else knows how to revert back please let me know.

I've done a quick search but need a simplified step-by-step guide . . . apparently it's a universally hated update.

Not seen it yet but will take a while to filter through works I.T red tape.

It's a different version for the tablet so I don't really use the PC version it at home.

Is it as bad as the new Google Maps?  Nasty..easy to revert though.

Maybe it looks different on Windows, but on Mac it's the same, but with an added 'apps' bookmark, which can be turned off.

Hmm was on my desktop at the weekend and spotted that (extra icon for apps)...and the option to use it in "windows 8 mode" thought RK was talking about a significant interface change..

As I say, unless Windows is different, it has not really changed

Apparently not everyone has it yet . . . maybe I'm just unlucky.

The new tab page now has the big "GOOGLE" logo, and search bar (which you CAN'T remove) and also 8 tabs showing "History" (that you also CAN'T remove and the information isn't even correct).

Also the "resume" option doesn't seem to work the same . . .

EDIT - The "Apps" tabs are gone from the page, too, you can't flick between history and apps anymore . . .

I think I need to see a print screen of this. I updated all three browsers and haven't noticed anything like that.

I think you are looking at the new-tab window. Just press home and you should have your usual default webpage back again.

Apps are now located in the icon that looks like lots of small boxes at the top right.

I see I now, they've just added an additional search bar in the new tab window...kinda pointless as you can search from the URL bar

Just means I have to scroll down a bit to get to my most used website short cuts.

No, I just get the new tab page.

You used to be able to flick between history and apps (I used to keep it on apps) but now all you get is history and the search bar.
