End of the Road . . .

Guys.  Gals.  It's been fun.

I tried the Facebook group but didn't like it (so I left ages back - sorry, no offense intended but I found it clunky - probably me, I know).

The Forum is now well and truly dead (I think we can all agree there's no coming back from this ?).

The meets are non-existent (I remember showing up on a frosty February? 2012 meet to an empty car-park, save for Ian and Vicky, with a full leg cast thinking - maybe - I was probably making too much effort - I didn't do that again).

I, personally, really liked the forum lay-out as it made much more sense to me and was good for building project treads (obviously my preferred area of topic) but with Photobucket now charging £££ to host, it'll end up wrecking all of my various project treads and there's obviously no point going to the trouble of re-hosting and editing the individual post links to ensure continuity because no one will be here to read them !

Everyone has got better things to be doing than meeting up monthly to discuss our hobby (apparently) and that's fine.

I loved the MKB in its prime (and even after) but there's nothing left now (except the BBQ !!)  :mkb:

I loved the forum up until I, alone, was responsible for 80+% of the activity (I, too, have got better things to do than provide life-support to a dead horse).

Many would probably say that I was responsible for driving away some of the former forum members, here, so I'm partly - at least - responsible for its demise and I won't argue with that.  I can't stand idiots, I make no apologies for that.

That said, I'd like to think I more than made up for it with my contributions over the years.  Some may disagree.   :rtfm:

Either way it doesn't matter.  It's a good time to call it.  It's dead.

So long, MKB, I won't say I don't have my regrets because I do but I will say that I'm past caring.

I'll miss the old days when people "had time", I'll miss the getting together and having fun, I'll miss the banter and I'll miss the forum's smiley selection (!!).   :boohoo:

Ciao !  :jiggle: :badger: :sparta:

Know what you mean dean, i do check in to see what's going on but nothing (save for jamies project updates) these days, so think the forum will remain for reference, but that's about it now.

FB is good for some things, others not so - so understand the decision there as well.

Shame to see the forum go the way it has gone but it is what it is, we all tend to socialise anyhow so onward we all shall go!

TBH I hate Facebook. I've just been banned because someone complained I used my nickname instead of my real name - wtf!!!

Is the forum going to live on, even though it's not active any more?

When does all the hosting/domain registration, etc. run out?
