Shipping Stuff
« on: November 08, 2005, 04:26:25 pm »
I have just done a deal on a few (heavyish) bits in the states, and am looking at getting them back here.

USPS is available (private sale), but is $122 for the 4-6 week sea freight.

I contacted Moving parts, who cannot beat that, but says that there would be benefits if we added more items.

This is where you come in.  Headliners, caddy suspension, Diffs?  Unless you have a better offer, is it worth us pooling together and getting the stuff in one? He is willing to hold on to stuff in the states for a few months while the orders are processed, so there's no immediate rush, although I would like my bits by the end of Jan at the latest.

What'dya think??

Hmm, originally I was intending to send the Caddy suspension bits to Graemes mate in CA as he would probably be supplying engine parts for her too . . . .

No pressure, or need to change plans unless you want to. I just thought it might be a good idea.

just remember the bigger the item the more it cost to ship, the shipping companies work on a strange formula for costing things,

a box could be 4'x6'x3' and way only 6kgs and would cost as much as a box 1'x1'x1' weighing 50kgs as they work the weight by the volume of the item

I'll bear that in mind when I am in a position to order some, Silver Ceramic Coated Headers are probably pricey

I go the email saying yes he could get a price, but no price yet.

Been adding some more items to the pile of bits, so will deffo be needing to stock pile and send in bulk. USPS won't take it soon.

Still no price.  I guess he's now living up to your expectations.

At least I'm in no rush for it.
