Hoods
« on: November 15, 2005, 10:18:28 pm »
Just taken a look here and seen a few I like. It has also shown me that the plan I had for a forward scoop, just doesn't look right, so a cowl it is.

The 3" Dominator (ooh err), Daytona and L-88's are my favourites.

They also do 3rd Gen stuff

Maybe sometime in the future we could club together and get 2-3(more?) sent over together?

This is a very good idea, however i'd be really awkward & want one from a different supplier as I'm not keen on any of their 3rd gen ones  Like you're ones tho, the 3" dominator & L88 are very cool

Hmm.  Me liking the "Aero" Hood.

But think I'll just do it the old fashioned way.

Why do they refer to some as "Race Only" ?

I think its the weighting,  some are finished underneath & use all the stock fixtures & fittings some are lift off race ones

Don't like the Torpedo one at all.  Looks too much like it's just a bolt on scoop. The Aero is the same sort of thing (I was thinking about this sort, but something doesn't look right about it. I want the hood to look relatively originalish.

Race only ones are going to be light weight, require pins, not properly finished etc.

Well, I suppose internal US shipping isn't going to be too bad to get them in the same place for the killer international part.

Looking again, I think the Aero's scoop is too high. I'd want the lower lip to be the same level as the hood, i.e. non-existant.

That'd be cool if we could all club together, its bound to make the int. shipping cheaper per person.
by now i'm sure everyone knows which hood I want.

Iroc-Blue on the AACI forums has a similar to L88 one in his sig. He's also got what looks like an aftermarket ground effects kit.
