If the greens good you can use it as a base coat, but i would non-sand the whole car TBH just incase.

Non-sand is a thinner coat,if you want to get out all the imperfections you need to do a high build coat (filler primer) then cut it back. Primer is easy to paint as it doesnt really matter if you make a mistake.

All depends mate, if your going with a solid color either but if your going pearl/candy/mica/metalic i would leave them on

Dont need a good gun for primer but i would recommend a gravity gun for thicker application, as for paint you get what you pay for, you can use upol high build primer which is cheaper and a good primer, but if you want a lasting finish i would use standox more expensive but you wont get the shrinkage over time. the best paint i have used is house of colour it paints much better and isnt alot more expensive and lasts. Only drawback is they dont do standard car colours

Yeah saw some at pomona looks ok, Think its a matter of trying it, i get HOK quite cheap so not too fussed but always good to have more options. Everything in UK is moving to water based or solvent free so getting good paints from here or Germany is becoming a pain. Got myself a new gun while i was out there half the price so cant wait to start using it.

Yeah i know what you mean about waterbased, my mates shop is all water based now. I am going to order some of the paint with pearl and use it in the water based binder instead of intercoat clear. I know standox have some pretty cool water based custom colors now as i have the data sheet at work. Hope to buy my first gun in the next couple of months going for a devilbis gti pro

Always used devilbiss but have been switching to Iwata both great guns cant go wrong with them,i got mine just for clearcoating as i had it modified so i have around a 15" fan on it
Going to sell alot of mine as i have too many now trouble is i have a few binks guns from the 70's that are still better than alot of modern ones.

Its been on Yanks for years, its not hard to paint but you really need air dryers or leave it longer to dry,its also way more expensive.

waterbased isnt that difficult, it still has a solvent clear though. You might want to look for a high solid thats what i painted the BBQ with and coverage was amazing.

Its going to be a toss up between the devilbiss or a sata but i must admit i like the feel of the devilbiss but they aint cheap, MK paint quoted me £270 each as the gti pro are different for base and clear
