I had to add this to your food forum.

When my son was little (around 5), he wrote to my cousin in Scotland occassionally. In one letter, he asked if they had hot dogs in Scotland. At the time, hot dogs were his favorite thing to eat.

My cousin sent him a sugary confection - candy of some sort, shaped like a hot dog in a bun with mustard - a good 6-8 inches long. For quite some time, my son thought the other side of the pond ate candy for dinner.
