More - Needed to get the box out and the wheels back on ready for trailering to the farmer for shot blasting.. the only thing left on that I dont want to get blasted is the wiring loom but then Im buying a new one anyway..

Once the wheels were on and as it was a really nice day, I took the opportunity to clean the garage floor where the bus was sitting..

Yes, I wanted it atleast on the road for this summer even though it wouldnt have alot of the modifications complete on it (disk brakes!!), but mostly due to money restrictions, it wont be done..

Plan is now to get it back from shot blasting, take to welding / paint, then have a nice solid shell and the colour I want to work on slowly putting it all back together - and anyone whos done this kind of thing before knows that putting back together takes 3 times as long as pulling apart.

Perhaps doing it slowly will ensure that its all done right

The only annoying thing is that now I have found the local shot-blasting farmer, it would have been great to leave the prep-work and painting of the floor pannels until after, then I wouldnt of had to prep, just paint.. Annoying.. But then I guess the shot-blasting would not of got everything totally off so I would have still had to do some grinding and wirewheeling

OSF Coil Spring snapped - common issue with the MkII Ford Mondeo apparently..

Always worth replacing both at the same time, particularly if the other side hasn't gone yet, its normally the passenger side that goes first

And yes, as common as the mondy itself.

See I was going to do both but everyone was talking about just replacing the broken one, even the guy at the parts place said do you want one or two...

So I ended up just doing the one..

Well i'm a bit miffed at the moment as i had the front wishbone bush go on the gearbox side at last years mot. The garage i took it to replaced it and it was all hunky dorey. A year later and at another garage, they've just told me the other side has gone. I managed to convince him to only put it down as an advisory for now. But in retrospect i should've got them to do both. As to get the one thats going off, you have to drop the sub frame and its a whole barrel of laughs.

Oh and if you think mk's roundabouts are bad, just try drivin through some parts of wycombe, its like bagdad around here!

Going to the Shotblasting farmer:

Getting out of the garrage..

Me checking the lashings..

The trailer really did look bigger before the bus got on.....      (poor Mondeo)

Unloaded at the farm.. This is the area where the bus will be rolled on its side to spray the chassis.

Series II Landy behind my bus also being worked on..

Real interested to see the end result of the blasting. The farmer said he will include blasting the complete engine bay, the whole chassis, the lower sills and some of the lower panel areas -    Great! Might help Andyvan out a bit with the prepping  :party0021:

Back from Wales!

Not much to see apart from trailer shots really...

Loading up, strapping down the lashings..

Homemade redneck sliding door to stop the doors and panels stored in the rear sliding out.

All the doors, deck lid, rear hatch, roof section, wings etc stored in the back..

In a lay-by somewhere on the A34 after we lost a lashing - cheap sh1t from egay. It was only the small blue ones I was using to try and stop the bus bouncing around - so not a load baring strap..

Rubbish!!

M4 Services to let the Mondeo cool down and take a whizz. Nice T5 behind with a monster of a car trailer (just out of shot).

Andytowers is in a valley. I was right down the bottom with the trailer still full and after a 7 hour drive the Mondeo clutch just didnt want to know when I asked it to get back to the top of the hill where the road leading to Andy's resto-barn is. Gave it one more try in the pouring rain and it just made it to the top, be that very smoky from the burning clutch!! Got it unloaded and freewheeled it near the resto-barn where an immaculate split that Andy is just finishing for another customer was sitting, so mine had to go outside for now with Andy's single-cab splitty. After much welcomed beers, bit of rock, some catching up and some fish and chips that night, I took these in the morning..

Look how clean the front clip is after the shot blasting  8)  I didnt get any pictures of the chassis, I think it was because I had soooo much to remember I just forgot.. But you can actually see what you are working with now instead of all that old hammerite, underseal and dirt. Andy said it should make things alot easier. Although, I think I need a new front beam or get my one welded up, the shot blasting made some holes  :Poke:

The stuff you do for your bus eh? Still, I got some good pictures of the Gower coast area :party0021:

Gotta be mega careful leaving any trailer in a motorway service station, locked or not the scum bags will have it away in seconds

No sir, just the chassis, engine bay and sills..

Yah i was real concious about the vunrability of the trailer, i made sure we were in and out as quick as we could.. Takes the fun out of towing to be honest when you have so much to think about..
