As Ray Comer is a 'local boy'.........thought you guys might be interested in this?

We are very pleased to announce that AVO and Big Mouse Racing have entered into a  partnership for the 2006 Drag Racing season.

Ray at Big Mouse is allowing AVO to have the rear of his Z28 for promotional purposes; the plan is that the rear of the car will bear our decals and website address. Judging by performance figures to date the rear end of the car will be viewed by many! Then, of course there will be press photo opportunities too

Ray ended last season with a personal best of 9.115 seconds @ 149.60 mph.The car wasn't ready for the beginning of last season and only ran in three of the six meets yet Ray finished a very creditable sixth in the Real Steel Street Eliminator UK series.

The ability of the car and the driver, together with work carried out during the closed season, points toward the mid-eights being very achievable.........and soon.

For further information on everything to do with the car, including its history, the engine, the rebuilding project and much more including video footage, check the Big Mouse Racing website http://www.bigmouseracing.co.uk/default.asp

Time to celebrate and wish Ray and the Big Mouse Racing team all the best for 2006.

Yep, Good luck Ray.

Would be nice to see our local boy at his local meet some time soon . . . He'd be very welcome.

Especially if the 'Maro was present.

He's got a really busy season with two series in the UK and a possible foray into Europe.........more later

I'm sure, if time allows, he'll get to a meet. If not, there's always the Pod and Shakey where you guys and gals can creep up on him

I'll pass him this link in the meantime

Would be good to see him again.

I thought he was a really great bloke . . . .

I'd be down the Pod and at Shakey more often if it wasn't so bloody expensive now . . .

I Remember when you could get in with change of a tenner . . .

And I'm not that old !!!

Yep. He was at your very first meet in Toddington..............when the car park was jam-packed but that was in his, then, daily driver.

Trouble now is that, given the consumption and the reduced size of the fuel tank, he trailers it everywhere.

And, ever considerate, he worries about waking the neighbours when he gets home

Maybe something can be worked out for your gang; even if its just for one meet.

Take a peek at the website anyway. History, News, Video Footage and a whole lot of links?

Well, the series kicks off this weekend at 'Shakey'

I'll be joining Ray and the rest of the crew on Saturday morning............sleeping bag and camp bed at the ready. Looks like we have the pleasure of sleeping in the pit area (Ray has already warned me I'm gonna get summat thrown at me if I snore )

Our lasses have a slightly more comfortable weekend in store. Shopping on Saturday and dinner for two at ours in the evening

Life is sweet

Seriously, I'm looking forward to the whole thing:-

Seeing the 'maro back on the strip
Waiting with bated breath for those 'times' to come rolling in
Catching up with the other competitors...........nice bunch of guys

"Been roughing it all my life................it's just the address has changed" (adapted from James Brown)

Had a call from Ray this arvo.........last minute shopping list for me

Camp Comer has been established. Dying to meet a new crew member; supposed to be a bit of an expert on LS1/LT1 matters.

So Big Mouse start the new SE series with everything in good shape and a motor which has so much left.

I will do my best to get some decent shots for you guys
