Anyone got old gaming stuff?
« on: February 21, 2009, 12:32:16 am »
I dug out my old Nintendo handheld:

26 years old and still mint with box and instructions.

It is based in a bottling plant (you move each character up and down to catch the crates of bottles moving from one screen to the other on conveyor belts until they get to the top to be loaded on a truck) and it she first time Mario and Luigi were featured together as far as I know...

Those Game & watch jobbies are worth some serious cash now, especially the early ones with the the 1st appearances of donkey kong etc.
It's the time that we kill that keeps us alive...

This one rates as "highly collectible" according to the guides I've seen.

The rarest one is the Lifeboat one I believe.  That can go for up to $1300 if literally brand new in box, or $500 if boxed.

This model is the 4th most collectible (out of the 15 different models) in as new condition (well, ideally actually new in box) they go for $400.

Boxed they go for up to $150.

Without a box and with marks they go for as little as $50.

Mine is in the same condition as this:

Very cool! Nice that its in such good nick!

I used to have a "woodgrain" Atari 2600 but my younger bother inherited that - and I dare say flogged it off at some point! Wasn't boxed or anything - just well used.

I have an original Nintendo Gameboy, a Gameboy Advance and a PSP now. My favourite though is my Atari 520 STFM with years worth of games on floppy and hard drive that still works perfectly well. Mind you the dedicated colour monitor I bought for it is rather primitive compared to today's monitors - you can just about see the scanlines and the screen refreshing if you try hard enough. Bearing in mind the HOURS I used to spend most days on it, its no wonder I wear glasses these days...

The boxed console alone is worth $450 or so.
New in Box would be $1,300

The games vary.

The Gameboy if boxed and cmplete is $45.
The Gameboy Advance is $55.

I have an Atari Jaguar in box which is worth $100

Keep an eye out for the VC4000 console which was mainly in Germany.
New in Box it's worth over $9,000 !!!
Boxed and complete in immaculate condition it's still worth $5,000

Lifeboat is worth $105 if not in box but decent nick.
Would have been $220 if boxed in v good nick.

The Mario Bros is worth just $28 if no box and so/so condition.

An original boxed, complete and excellent nick Master system is worth $150.

Not sure on the Grandstand, but the proper Atari one is worth $150, again boxed.

Obviously for real money all this stuff needs to be boxed, complete and in top nick.
If they're sealed as -new then the prices start to go crazy.

Depends on when you sell and the most important thing is condition and completeness.

The Game and Watch stuff hit its peak in late 2007 and has dropped since (like most stuff in life).

I woulny sell my 2 get and watch things. They're quite sentimental really. I remener buying them at heathrow airport on the way to Cyprus. I have a bunch of other ones, none of which are as cool. I have a racing one that I bought in teneriffe in a market when I was 6. Same year I bought my first asterix book from the hotel in the same country!
