Clever, but also annoying

I've just done a search in ebay for 'Small Block Chevy', to find that it has also included results from 'SBC'.

Clever, but it's turned up loads of stuff that isn't in any way related to what I'm looking for, and I can't see how to stop it.

I normally avoid such broad searches because you get aload of crap come up . . . try being more specific to cut down on the rubbish.

Jamieg285

True, but in this case I am just browsing rather than looking for specifics.

Roadkill

Try "minusing" certain things . . . often if you're getting loads of crap come up alot of it's somehow related so do the same search with a "-" in front of that which you DON'T want.

Then getting unspecific results shouldn't be a suprise?

I'm assuming you at least filtered it down by category on the left hand side so that at least sbc has more of a chance of meaning small block chevy?

Jamieg285

Yeah, I know all this, I'm far from an ebay novice

Even when just filtered to 'Vehicles...' and sub categories, there's still less than 50% of stuff actually related to the search criteria of 'Small Block Chevy'.

HardRockCamaro

I figured as much but it was a basic question so...

What it it coughing up that isn't related?

Jamieg285

lol, this wasn't meant to be a 'how to search ebay' thread, just merely the observation that it has converted the words to sbc.

However, SBC seems to be common in bulbs and some form of turbo boost stuff, amongst others.
