Mustang Check engine light has come on and the Oil pressure has gone up a bit.  Still in the "Normal" range but pointing at 'M' rather than 'o'

Seems to be running normally but any ideas anyone?

Also has anyone got a Diagnostic Code reader thingamibob?

Pod

My reader is OBD I which, as far as I know, only works on up to 1993 mustangs.

Have you got a screw-on oil filler cap ?

Does the pressure drop if you remove it (if so remove first then start the car) ?

I think the way we found out was there was an OBDII port under the dash in the usual place, but there was then a different diag port in the engine bay!

Nope

Oil was a little low but not dry.  Looked fine.
Couldn't hear or see anything out of the ordinary...Alternator was buzzing/whirring a bit but other than that

EDGE

Is it a 5.0 or a 4.6. The 5.0 was the mongrel that used obd 1 and 2. A 4.6 would be obd 2 only

3.6...

OBDII

in fact, the engine management in the V6 was way ahead of the V8 when the SN95 was launched.

it was actually designed by benneton, and was the first ford in the US to use wasted spark ignition..
