Well I took her out for a quick spin on Sunday and she's not firing on all cylinders (yes I know there were already 2 missing 😋).
Not changed the leads for 6-7 years and not changed the plugs since the first major service, not long after buying her..so I'll start there

If I'm sure there must be some kind of adhesive available to help...double sided sticky tape? :-)

I've put the Mustang to bed for the Winter, also treated her to a new battery as couldn't get enough charge in it to start her for the short journey into the garage, been nursing it all year to be fair.  This one actually fits as well!

Feeling guilty..think I've only opened the garage door once since she went in...
Off work next week so hope to have her out and ready to tax and test for the new season.
Hope the new battery survived the neglect..

Just can't believe how quickly the last 6 months have passed!

Wow, more than 5 months since the last update.  The good news is I'm still here and so is the car.

O.K, long-term MKB'ers will know that this project harks-back to 2006 when yours truly bought a rotten 1960 Humber and cut it up to use the back as a BBQ and the front as an entertainment centre.

Ahh the good old days of road trips to pick up rusty and / or non-driveable cars.

I've just began to enter the 21st century and have read an article about Sonos . . . . I'm guessing this set-up would speak to a Bluetooth transmitter actached to an old skool iPod O.K as well, yes ?

(Sonos sounds cool, BTW - music in every room - awesome).

BTW I've just been looking at the new SONOS Play 5 for a work colleague, noticed it has an auto-detecting 3.5mm audio line-in connection..and thought of you. 😉   Only one in the range that does though..

So we have a shopping list lads:

  • Small American
  • V8
  • Lowish Purchase Cost

What can we find?   :chiny:  :ebayanim:

Find anything yet?

Keep changing my mind but now thinking to keep the Mustang another year or so and keep saving for a dream car.. Ideally a 70-74 Plymouth Barracuda as it will fit in the garage.  Either that or one of Roadkill's "20 ways to extend a garage".. 😁

Though if a really tasty A-Body turns up I could also be tempted with that..

Visual check of the speed sensors tbh.  Unfortunately I no longer have the diagnostic kit I used on mine.

ABS light came on last week . . . the ABS kicks in for the first few braking operations (ABS light off), then the ABS light comes on and the braking returns to "normal" . . . although I'm guessing it wouldn't come on in a full-on emergency stop.

Not keen on letting a garage plug her in to tell me whatever they want to say so have ordered a OBD-2 fault reader off of eBay for £7.95 . . . never realised they were so cheap !

Mine had that, turned out to be a broken wire on one of the rear speed sensors.  Think it was a common fault on the Mondeo.

IIRC My cheapie OBD2 Reader didn't pick up on the fault though.. Probably only has the common, cross OEM codes.  I had to use some Jag diagnostics software and CANayzer from work to read that one.

I'm thinking the toroidal transformer though probably the 30V 2A version.  Probably worth running it past Steve..

Next question - where can I get a mains transformer 25-30 V AC - 2 Amps ???

I might as well be discussing brain surgery . . .

???

Not a clue . . .
AC/AC?  :chiny:
