1979 Porsche 911's 3.0

I love the shape but not to sure what owning one would be like. I've got someone asking to do a deal on the Iroc

Well if you want a posh beetle then go for it, 911's dont do that much for me until the later watercooled, also if your over 6' then forget about it as you wont fit

depends on you mate, financially its worth a lot more than the iroc, and in every respect in terms of driving its going to have it thoroughly beaten, accelerating, braking and handling will all be considerably superior.  its also going to be more reliable, far higher quality, infinitely better built, and no more expensive to run.

but its such a completely different car, its simply comes down to liking the car. At the end of the day, if its a decent one and you dont like it, you can always sell it on.  With the best part of 10k in your grubbies, you can easily buy another iroc, and have change.

Here's a pic

Always loved the shape but its a complete unknown to me. I'm only 5'9 so height isn't a problem. I love the Iroc but i would like to try some different cars as I'm easily bored.

looks nice, very solid cars.

you do realise however, you are required to drive it constantly round docklands playing an endless loop of Sade on the CD player!

simply put....

I like 'em, in an ideal world, you'd want both as they are so different, but in this world, it isn't possible, so sell the i-roc, and buy A Corvette

I cant se why people dont like them. Is it because of the image because the styling is bloody awesome.

Thing is the chesil is almost as expensive as an original if done properly and at the end of the day its still a replica. I can remember looking, infact i went to the factory as i was thinking of one instead of the 55 but it was going to be almost £30k to do it properly with a porsche motor and that was 7 years ago

Porsches are like fat birds - fun for a while but you'll soon get fed up with the cost of feeding it; parts are astronomically expensive (nothing cheap ever breaks on a porsche) and the older ones drink petrol like theres a hole in the tank unless its been regularly services (or so I'm informed by a porsche owner of long standing - he likes them because he's mid 50's, three times divorced and hoping it will pull him a younger bird - no chance!!)

Trying one out for a while is cool, we should all try different cars for the experience - but be sure its in good nick because you will want to change it sooner rather than later

Exactly, try anything once. Just saying the iroc is a better car doesnt really qualify it, the porsche is a european sports car the iroc 'american sports car' in my dream garage although there would be a couple of american cars there would also be some jap and european and even british. Variety is the spice of life mate so if you have the chance to swap i say go for it, not like IROC's are hard to come by
