I'll crack on with the "Cold" run tonight (this is already about 50% done).

Don't forget to have the cut off tap inside so that it can't freeze in winter

You talk to me like i've never done this before.

All taps will have isolator valves fitted and all nicely fitted together under a nice, tidy, removeable little plate for true pimpness.

The wiring is also nearly done - in fact the lighting side was finished last night - I now have three lights down each side and one on a separate switch above where the bench will go.

Yeah just needs sockets sorting and all done apart from final fitting in place

Tried to get some up before work this morning but ran out of time.

On the plus side the front outside tap is finished, now as is all of the other plumbing up to the point where they will meet the new sink / taps.

I need to fit the outside tap to the rear this evening but I've already pre-assembled the pipe work, leaving only one solder joint and one compression joint to do.

I did a series of "odd" jobs last night, fixing scraps of insulation to the ceiling (every little helps), fitting pipe clamps and wire clips and cutting and fitting strips of plasterboard where required around the rear windows . . . .

I also fitted a section of plasterboard to the left wall effectively now allowing for the work bench to be fitted . . . .

Pictures to follow.

Still no pics.

However, Ian came round and finished connecting the new mains wiring to the original (and stripped out the old) - meaning I now have finished electrics - meaning the ceiling is ready to go in !!!

Cheers, Ian.

The plan is to go shopping for the ceiling plasterboard this evening.

I also got another section of pipe in on the cold run - meaning that the rear outside tap is now also done and working and, as I checked this morning, apparently leak-free . . . . which was good as soldering copper pipe with a blow-torch in blustery conditions is fekking hard work !

SOME PICTURES !

The ceiling framing - ready for plasterboarding.

The "troughs" I cut in the wall to take the pipes and the converted electrical back-box which hold the isolator valves.

The labryth of pipes and wires . . .

And all covered.

The "long" wall all boarded.

The end wall boarded.

Done.

Just got to install insulation to the ceiling then we're ready for (more) plasterboard.

EDIT - Since these photos were taken the lighting and wiring has been organised / secured / tidied considerably.

Also the pipework has had lagging added.

Just needed to mention that.

Busy, busy, busy friday eveing and saturday !

Got half the insulation fitted on friday.

Also fitted half a board at the door end so I could start boxing in the roller-shutter door (to reduce the draughts).

Next we put up another three boards (to cover the area already insulated).

After that it was a matter of putting up one boards worth of insulation at a time then fitting the board below until the whole ceiling was fitted.

Ian also managed to complete the mains electrics - fitting the outside socket to take the garden stuff and fitting another double socket.

A baton was also put in on the far wall which will be the support for the worktop.

After that (and after a shopping trip to pick up some more screws) I carried on boxing in the roller shutter.

Cheers to PhilO and Ian for assistance on Saturday, my Dad for assistance on Firday evening and even thanks to Sammy for her brief (yet critical) help yesterday eveing.

By shear fluke the far left hand corner (where the sink was planned to be) just happens to be directly over an inspection cover for the main soil pipe from the house.

I plan to introduce a pipe, there.  Not ideal - but alot simplier than trying to route waste back to the house soil, only for it to pass right under the sink, en route to the main sewer.

Obviously there won't be any solids deposited there, only dirty water so they'll be no chance of blockages, either.

Tonights job is to assemble (and modify) the units I brought over the weekend to go in the garage.

The worktop is going to be a custom height therefore I need to know exactly how high the units are in order to make up framing for them to sit on.

Then, obviously, the next job will be to buy more timber and make said framing !

EDIT - I also need to add another 200-odd screws to the ceiling.

Indeed.

Or, alternatively.

Lack of screwing = wrist and elbow ache.

I know . . . . . I was gonna suggest he changed it before some malicious so-and-so picked up on it and childishly commented . . . . . . . . . .

But there's no fun in that is there ?
